Rhiannon McGavin is a young spoken word poet, sophomore at UCLA, and the former Youth Poet Laureate of Los Angeles. After gaining recognition for her YouTube channel, “The Geeky Blonde,” Rhiannon has grown to use the platform as a collection of DIY projects, “Condensed Shakespeare” vignettes, and original poetry, as well as to advocate for global freedom from sex trafficking and cyber bullying. She has performed at Lincoln Center, The Hollywood Bowl, and the Library of Congress. She co-wrote the manifesto for Dove’s 2015 #ChooseBeautiful campaign, she is a member of Soul Pancake’s “Bridge Exchange” to present poetry at film festivals, and she led Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas’s 2014 March Against Sex Trafficking.
